Tom moved from Jobseeker’s Allowance to Employment and Support Allowance after being diagnosed with Asperger syndrome in 2009. He often found the process of applying for ESA rushed and felt that people did not take an interest in him as an individual. He has worked as an assistant caterer in the past, but found the busy job environment stressful. He would like to be a librarian but has not yet received the support he needs to find a suitable job.
